Division of Responsibility

Just like we never place all our assets with one bank, there is a lot of value in dividing the responsibilities of IT and CyberSecurity. It would be best to be transparent with how much of your business each provider can earn. You do not want to "trust and like" one vendor to give them all your business. It's just wise to have that division of responsibility with each provider and understand how much overlap is necessary to prevent gaps. It's common today for insurance providers to deny cybercrime claims because someone assigned too many functions to people not qualified to provide that service.
